Design Distill is a visualization studio that narrates design projects. Building on experience acquired in multiple fields, they are all about the creative communication of architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, real estate development, and digital media.
Design Distill seeks talented digital renderers to work physically in our Cambridge studio, in Porter Square. This is for one of several full-time positions with immediate availability and various levels of experience considered. The studio is a fast-paced environment, with frequent opportunities to innovate, experiment, and engage architecturally with projects.
This role requires knowledge about architecture, with the objective of creating beautiful illustrations. The position requires a firm grasp of conceptual 3D modeling and rendering, as well as advanced experience with Photoshop. If you are passionate about the conceptual phases of design, this may be your chance to impact projects of all sizes, many of which are featured in the press. Projects range from design competitions to airports, to tech startup concepts, to institutional projects the world over… in collaboration with Sasaki, Google, Area15, Field Operations, Gensler, Perkins + Will, Harvard, and MIT, among others.

- Passion about visualization, with an artist’s approach to perceiving architecture. - Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Architecture, or similar design discipline. - Mastery of Photoshop (with demonstrated management of groups, layers, blending, masks, etc). - Proficiency in VRay and rendering parameters in general. - Proficiency in Sketchup and affiliated plug-ins. - Willingness to engage in constructive discussion.
- Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects. - Proficiency in Autodesk and Rhino software. - Training or experience in urban design and/or landscape architecture. - Experience in visualization with another viz studio or as an in-house renderer at a reputable design firm.
